Neck pain is rarely just a neck problem. The cervical spine sits at the top of a kinetic chain that includes your thoracic spine, ribcage, and shoulders. When these regions lose mobility or motor control, the neck compensates — and eventually, it complains.
Hours at a desk, poor breathing mechanics, reduced thoracic rotation, and shoulder dysfunction all contribute to cervical overload. Treating the neck in isolation might bring temporary relief, but it won't solve the underlying problem.
How we assess neck pain
We look beyond the site of pain to find what's driving the problem. A thorough evaluation includes the cervical spine, thoracic spine, ribcage, and shoulder complex — because they all influence each other.

How we treat it
Treatment targets the mechanical drivers we identify — not just where it hurts. Cervical and thoracic adjustments restore segmental motion. Dry needling addresses myofascial trigger points in the upper traps, levator scapulae, and suboccipitals. Soft tissue work releases restrictions that limit normal movement.
Then we teach you how to maintain it. Specific motor control drills for the deep cervical flexors, thoracic mobility exercises, and breathing retraining — all prescribed based on your individual findings.

What to expect
Many patients with neck pain notice meaningful improvement within the first 2–4 visits. Acute cases often respond quickly to manual therapy combined with motor control work. Chronic neck pain — especially with years of desk posture or previous whiplash — takes longer to fully resolve, but improvement typically begins early.
We track your progress with objective measures and adjust the plan based on your actual response. You'll leave every visit with specific exercises to maintain the gains we make in the office.
